I have a 96 sp that I started up for the first time this year. After about two minutes it died. I lost all power and found it had a blown 5 amp fuse. Now every time I try to replace the fuse it burns out. I checked all wires and connections and did not find any problems. I un-plugged the fly-wheel assembly and the fuse didn't blow but there was still no chirp sound. Does anyone have any idea why this is?

disconnect'n that plug, and now it stop pop/n the fuse, leads me to believe, the stator assy is ground'n out, either by teeth shavings from flywheel, or a coils' loose or rust..etc. Good job on diagnosing it
