I have a 96 seadoo sp 587 and I just replaced the needle and seat because of hard start checked the rotary valve clearance that was good but I recently got a tiny tach that goes on the spark plug wire and the rpm was real low out the water so I turn it up til 2400 like the manual said but now it's not wanting to start after the first run and shutoff. Now the question is... should I need to adjust the low speed screw after I did the idle screw and if so can I do it on the trailer with water hose hooked up?

You can do the adjustment on the trailer. The hose will not affect it either way. You can only run the engine for a minute with or without the hose as the Carbon Seal will have no cooling. Idle on the trailer is 3000 RPM. It should be 1500 once in the water.

Its 3000 on a trailer the manual says for a 96 sp 587 it's 2400.. should I bump it up 3000?

also had thease plugs in for a day on Saturday maybe ran for about 20 min then took it to the lake today and ran for about ten minutes.(won't start after first ride) Does it seem like I'm running to lean? If so I need to turn my low speed screw counterclockwise to richen it up a bit correct?
