I'm taking in water through the deck drain under the seat. I purchased a brand new Scupper valve and it still seems to be taking in water?! Is there a valve I'm supposed to have covering the drain hole inside the boat? Also, am I supposed to have a cap on either the flushing valve on the back? There are two drain holes- I assume one is for the bildge water and the other for flushing the engine but was wondering if I should have a cap on either? Please help!!!

hey tj....
believe "scooper" on here, had similar problem, and found this "plastic cage w/ golf ball nestled within" to fix the problem. Or you can go to home-depot/lowes, and purchase/install a ball-valve inline,(has red t-handle), to fix problem.
As to other ?, you can cap off the hose attachment/flushing one, but not the bilge drain hole, unless you plan on relocated it.
I relocated mine, next to vent tank vent plug, because it seemed as if water was backflush'n through bilge, when not running, and puddle'n up the compartment. Hope this helps...
