Hey guys I'm pretty new to this seadoo game.I ride more stand up skis but anyway...my wife bought this seadoo challenger 800 without me looking it over and way over paid for it i feel.I took it to the lake for trial one and the exhaust rubber outlet started leaking.I got that fixed up this morning took it back for trial to.boat started up fine I throw it in reverse and rev it up a little and nothing.the shaft moves a little at idle and after I give it any gas the motor spins and shaft does nothing .it looks like someone's been chasing this problem it has a new lookin prop and bearing.what else would make the motor turn and not the shaft? I see its missing a rubber of some sort also.this thing is driving me nuts along with the old lady lol help me please

You are going to be replacing the driveshaft and the PTO, DO NOT EVEN TRY TO REPLACE JUST ONE AND MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE ALIGNMENT OR YOU WILL BE DOING THIS REPAIR AGAIN.

If you find your splines are shot on the shaft, I would suggest buying everything from the PTO to the Impeller. Carbon Seal, bellows, Top Hat, C-Clip if equipped with one, carrierier bearing if not the CS style, shaft, PTO...

You do NOT want to open it back up to get to any of those parts later... Replace them now and be done with them..

Which is probably part of the problem, yes it seals better but it leaves no room for misalignment like the carbon ring does.

Very true. If the engine is out of alignment, the drive shaft will wear on the outer seal (impeller side) and allow water into the bearing. This will rust the bearing and can seize the drive shaft.
