Hey.
I just picked up a 97 Hx that a friend was redoing and decided to give up on.
I got everything put back together except for the hoses for the cooling.
Does it matter which way the water flows through the engine? Should it go through the engine first or the exhaust? It has an aftermarket exhaust and heads so things look a little different and I am confused "as usual"..
Any help would be greatly appreciated..
Thanks

Cooling system....

Water enters the 717cc Rotax through the pump. There, it has a splitter which breaks off a measured portion of the flow and is injected into the exhaust sytem.

The split to the engine, sends water to the head, where it crosses directly over to the exhaust, where the water is preheated as it makes it's way through the exhaust manifold to the heads. It travels upward through the water jacket and out the back of the head and exits the pump.

Cooling system

Thanks for the speedy reply..
The problem I am having is there are 2 water nozzles that are tied together on the APA racing heads that are on this ski..There is a big nozzle on the front end of the exhaust pipe and a smaller one at the aft end by the rubber exhaust hose..There is also one where the exhaust hooks onto the block which has a electric valve on it. The way it is right now is they have a tee fitting connecting the head and the nozzle at the back of the exhaust and a tee on the the 2 nozzles on the exhaust..I always thought that you wanted to heat the water up before it got to the engine but the way this looks that is not the way they set it up..
If you have any ideas on this please let me know..
Thanks

Your system may be hooked up correctly I am not sure. You may need to find someone who knows how that after market set up is to be. The engine and exhaust should run cool at least mine does even after pulling a tube I can put my hands on the engine and exhaust for a secound and not get a bad burn my engine temp never runs higher than 150 degrease.
