MY 96 GTX bogs down when the engine is cold. When I give it gas, it just makes a bubbling sound. You have to keep shutting it off, restarting and punch the throttle several times before it finally begins running. If the craft is out of the water, it will rev just fine which is why the dealers have not found the cause. Any ideas?

When was the last time you rebuilt the carbs?

Mine did the same thing and I have since replaced the small fuel filter in both carbs. Both filters were very dirty. The carbs are ready to go back on the machine and I plan to fire it up this weekend.

Cleaning the carbs is a good idea. If it has gray fuel lines they need to be replaced too. You may need to choke it a bit too to get it to warm up in cool weather and cool water.
