96 gtx/gsx mpem

Can I use a 96 gsx mpem in a 96 gtx? Looking at wiring diagram it seems everything is exactly the same except for the vts and one single blue wire connector I guess for oil sensor?

I went over the diagrams of the gsx and gtx in the manual and it looks like the vts is completely outside the electrical loop on the gsx and only plugs into info panel on low voltage purple white wire so it can remain unplugged. The extra blue wire on the GTX mpem is for the speedo that connects into the low voltage blues going into the info panel. I don't think those are part of a closed loop. The only other difference I'm working on now is the red purple wire on the gsx is part of a two wire connector plug and it is needed to power the info panel. On the gtx it's a single plug connector. I could splice the gtx connector onto the gsx wire to get my power for info panel.

The purple white is for vts the red purple is for info panel power

Give yours a try. I have a GTX in the yard I'm gonna scrap. I think it is a 1996. I know the MPEM Works. If you need it I'll sell it for $200 with the key.

It might work but not sure because the gsx has vts.

Just got back from the lake. It totally works! No vts wire. Rewired the speed sensor plug to fit the new mpem. Runs great.
