Does anyone know how to get the face off of the info gauge. I have removed the ring and the lens. I cannot figure out how to remove the face to get to the lcd display.

http://pwctoday.com/f15/seadoo-info-gauge-repair-68852-3.html on the 3rd page toward the bottom a guy breaks it down pretty well I think.
I have the same problem. I havn't torn into it yet. I wonder if the deteriorated film that needs replacing is really even necessary. It may help a little in direct sunlight but I bet it can just be removed although if you are going to all the trouble may as well replace it right?

Sorry if there's a relevant thread on this site. I searched and couldn't find one.

I read that posting. The guy says to:

You will find four screws that holds the face onto the gauge, remove those and remove the face. You should now be looking at the LCD screen and the crinkled up film, use a straight edge razor blade and carefully remove all of the old film.

I can't find four screws anywhere. I hope they are not inside the gauge body. I can't see in there at all.

I purchased new film. The guy that sells kits is on an extended leave and is not responding. I wish I had his directions!

I just got mine apart and scraped off the bad film. It was a booger to get off but the razor blade worked nicely, make sure you use a new sharp one. It took a lot of scraping. To get the gauge apart I had to pry a ring that holds the gauge to the case off with a thin screwdriver, i'm pretty sure I destroyed the ring. Then the gauge separated from the case and I had to take out the four screws that hold the lcd to the gauge cover. The the cover came off revealing the lcd and the bad film. I wiped the lcd with rubbing alcohol after scraping off all of the old film. As you can see in the picture the lcd is very shiny. You can see the reflection of my shirt in it. Make sure you get enough slack in the wires to get the board out far enough to get the four screws out. You can stuff the black stopper up into the gauge case for just enough slack to get the board out far enough to get to the screws.

I have a problem though. I can't get any power to the gauge so i don't know if it still works. I forgot to check before tearing into it... I have the engine out of the hull right now. Can the gauges still power up with the engine removed? Do they ground through the engine? I have the positive and negative wires in the back hooked up to the black box.
