I have 96 GTX 787 (110)hp and it starts up fine and runs great out of the hole but once I get up a little speed it bogs down to 4000 rpms then picks up speed to just over 5000 rpms and repeats.I'm thinking it my be cavitation but it does'nt sound like it is.I've checked both rave valves and cleaned them, bellows are good and changed plugs several times. On the carbs the PTO and the Mag high speed screws are open as far as the caps will let them go(counterclockwise).I noticed the front plug has a normal tan color to it,but the back plug looks hardy used but they were installed at same time. I checked and cleaned the fuel filter at the tank also.If I ease into the throttle and keep it under 5000 rpms it runs smooth. And if I go WOT it just bogs down and bearly moves. Any HELP will be appreciatated!

First off the High Speed adjustment is set at "0". Its the one with the plastic cap. The cap keeps it from being turned more than 1/4 turn in either direction. The Low Speed screw has a pin through it. It is set as a start of 1 1/2 turns and adjust from there. As far as the reving problem heres what you need to do. You need to remove the carburetors and clean them. If you're careful and don't tear or damage the diaphragms you won't need to buy a rebuild kit. Pay attention to the internal filters too. If you have gray fuel lines you need to replace them with black fuel lines available from auto parts stores like Auto Zone. Measure the length you need and bring a sample with you so you get the correct size. Replace one at a time so you don’t get them mixed up. If you need clamps replace them too. Use small stainless steel clamps also from the auto parts store.
