I Have A 96 Seadoo Gsx With A 787 Engine That Is Leaking Water Out Of The Rear Cylinder Base Gasket I Would Like To Fix Myself.
Should I Remove The Engine From The Ski Your Fix It In Place ?
When I Take It Apart Is There Anything That I Have To Watch Out For?? And When Putting It Back Together How Do I Compress The Piston Rings Do I Need A Special Tool For Pwc Please Help ThanKS

the exhaust is kind of in the way on the 787. it could prob. be done while in the ski. i would think it would be harder to pull the engine than just the cap and jugs.

I am pretty sure that is the same engine as in my XP. I just pulled the cylinders and had them bored. Piece of cake. When reinstalling it dose take a little care when slipping cylinder over piston rings but you do not need a special tool. Of course observe torque specs and cross tightening when torquing cylinders and head down. Good time to clean up exhaust valves IMOP.

I Have Looked For A Base Gasket And There Are Different Thickens How Do I Know Which One I Need

go with 5 holes. means .5 mm. the middle of the range. most common size. watch the rings when you reinstall. there is a little pin in the ring groove to keep the rings from turning. you have to make sure the pin is in the ring end gap. then just squeeze rings with fingers and slip jug over. you must remove both cyls to change gasket.
