I'm close to completing a 2 week project of resurecting a 96 challenger. There's not much to a boat like this. But it looks good and has so much potential in a simple package.

I have two things to get sorted out. One is an issue with starting consistent. I believe the starter relay / solenoid is no good. I have a new one on the way.

The last issue is the tach. I'm getting no RPM on the tach. I've reseated all the cables in the electric box. I've reseated the connector on the magneto as well. I did find a resistor in the cabling in the box. My meter doesn't read 20k but the resistor is 20k. I would imagine it's alright.

I've also pulled the face from the tach and the needle moves freely.

Does anyone have a suggestion on what to check or test to get the tach working?

Thanks!

I pulled all the wires for the tech. Traced everything back to the locations in the electrical box and Magneto. I reseated all of the connections. I attempted to start the engine last night as a test and I do see the tach getting a little blip of a signal now. I'm going to get it on the hose tonight and start it up to see if everything is working with the tach now.
