I have a 96 Challenger I am working on. Was running terrible but made exhaust repairs, cleaned and repaired rave valves, and put fresh gas in it. Runs great now, but it takes forever to get on plane. When riding with my daughter, I can put her on the bow and it helps a ton, but still slow. Any suggestions for a next step?

Check your impeller and wear ring for damage. Post a picture of the impeller from the front.

Looks like an awful lot of gap around the impeller. If it looks like the thickness of a dime the wear ring is shot. If I had to guess, it's time for a wear ring.

I would replace that impeller too. It's in good condition, however, it will still perform poorly with a new wear ring. When those boats were new, BRP would replace them with a Skat-Trak swirl impeller free of charge if the customer complained. Install a 17/22 swirl and you will be very happy with the performance.
