I have a brand new 951 motor with about a tank of fuel through it, it has aftermarket flame arrestors on it and a jet ski, all came from Watercraft Magic. The main is 167.5, pilot is 85, 2.3 needle and seat, high speed is open 1/8, and low speed is open 1.5 out. All are specs from the install sheet. The problem is, from an idle, if I punch it, it will rev to about 6500 then fall flat on its face and stall out, sometimes I can catch it if I burp the throttle other times it just dies. It also does it from an idle if I go to half or quarter throttle. Once it pulls it does pull very hard at about 6900ish rpm which it what Bill Oneil says it should. I have tried both opening and closing the low speed needle very little and nothing seems to clear it up. The fuel pump accelerator is working too. I have no idea what this could be. Any info is greatly appreciated.

It can be the lanyard magnet. Bill is an Industry leader, and very knowledgeable.

It won't be the lanyard. Re-check the accelerator pump and adjustment. It sounds like it's running slightly lean. Try opening up the high speed needles a little (1/4 turn maybe).

Chester,
When I had the needles open it ran a little worse. But Bill does believe its not getting enough fuel right away when it gets full throttle. I'm currently cleaning the carbs 100% again to see if I find something. Does anyone know how the accelerator pump goes together with the two internal springs? I took it apart to clean it and didn't realize the springs were there until they shot out. I can't find anywhere how they go. Seadoowarehouse.com doesn't show

accelerator pump...

ifanything like on my boats...theres one internal,in that 1insq. body, the other, rest on side, get'n "squished" betweenthe arm and carb-plate, I think.

timmyboy, that's what I was told today by Bill Oneal. Mine had to inside for whatever reason. Not put there by me. The second spring looks like the one on the outside of the pump. Hopefully this was part of the problem. Thanks for all the replies and help. If anyone knows of something else that may cause this problem my ski is having please send any info for all of us to troubleshoot with. Thanks again.
