95" xp800

Been try'n to dig up info for this. Does this particular boat have the "dess" system, or regular landyard. Found to be, that Seadoo announced the "dess" in 96", but since this was production of "Rave" motor, wondering if they incorporated the "dess" to this, but not mentioned it.

I dont think it has the DESS system... As I was getting info, and as u mentioned it came out in 96.... Im sure you'd probably would rather hear this from snipe or karl tho :rofl:

Timmyboy is right. This is a forum. Please, don't cut yourself short just because you aren't seadoosnipe or karl. We depend on members a bunch more than you think when it comes to finding answers. You've got no idea how much I"ve learned from people like you. So, seadoogts, please post your answers, they'll be appreciated by me and anyone else who reads them.

BTW....your answer was right, the DESS came out in 96. Although, there were a couple models that were built in late 95 that may have incorporated it. But, you'd know if it did.......the post and lanyard look nothing like the standard post..............

95 xp 800

I don't think you're gonna get a "for sure" answer on this subject. The 95 XP 800 was a mix of SeaDoo 787 technology. Even the crankshaft was different from a 96 XP 800. It would not surprise me that some had DESS and some didn't.

No Dawg, from everything I"ve read, the DESS was first introduced into the boats of 1996 but not all skis had them.:cheers:

Yes, the 95 XP800 did come from the factory with DESS.

some were/weren't

from what i've dug up, sounds as if, the manufacturer sent them to dealerships, for them to "anable" the d.e.s.s., and once programmed, cant be undoned.
Sounds as if, they were capable of d.e.s.s. system, just if they were programmed or not.
