The 787 Engine is a very good engine. It features a RAVE system,(Rotax Adjustable Variable Exhaust) on the exhaust side of the engine that allows more quick response than conventional engines. This rave valve unit allows the exhaust port to become larger or smaller based on the RPM of the engine. The 787 also features a rotary intake system too, that allows a perfect fuel mixture on the intake side as well. The Rotax engine is very strong and reliable. I have a 1997 Challenger, (jet boat version)with a 787 engine. It is pretty quick too. This engine size is available in many different models and configurations. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

You must be talking about the 1996 XP and not a 1995.....

The Motor is not rare however the ski (96XP with that motor is harder to find than say one with a 580 657 720 etc, same hull smaller motor...)

The reason is the XP, SP, SPI, SPX, from 1993 to 1997 had variations of 587 650 720 motors but the same basic hull design.

In 1996 the xp introduced the 110 hp 787 powered ski. Which was followed in 1997 by the SPX 110 HP 787 ski.

So as you can see the 787 was only offered in two skis with that hull style (one in 1996xp ( all yellow pink stickers) and 1997 SPX White and yellow with purple stickers.)

And the other motors were offered in 4 models every year for 5 years.....

Ya I thought it was a 96 but it isnt. The plate says 95. The ski is different than a 96. It doesnt have mirrors and it has only one gauge on it.

The 1995 seadoo xp800 has the 787cc engine. It was a limited run prior to the production release of the rave engine in the 1996 xp.

The 95's are a little quicker as they are a bit lighter, and the pump is located more to the rear the the 1996 production model.

You can tell them apart by the pink on the underside of the 1995 and the fact that the pump sticks out farther in back. Also, the 1995 xp800 has no mirrors.

Great boat!
