Last time i took my XP out, it seemed to randomly bog down, then after a little while, run perfectly again. I figured carb work and ordered the rebuild kit.

Now today, i wanted to start it up before taking it out again, and i noticed the starter is having a hard time cranking the motor, to the point of the battery wires getting hot. Is this a starter issue, or do i have motor problems?

Thanks in advance!

Possible that your starter is going bad. You can remove the starter and have a local electrical shop (alternator/start repair) diagnose it and possible repair it for less than the cost of a new starter.

Still have to figure if this is a motor issue or starter issue, but im rebuilding the cards, and holy crap, they are HORRIBLE! rusty, full of junk, just horrible. So i'm guessing that was why it ran so badly.
