I have a 95 XP that it seems the needle bearing was not greased, when cranking the engine, the rubber boot, between the drive shaft and through hull fitting, twists. One I got the engine started the plastic through hull fitting smoked and started to melt, I shut off engine and have new bearing to replace, does this seem to be the only problem? or is through hull fitting easy to replace to? Thanks

This might be the best way to go if you don't have a seadoo manual yet;
As a premium member you can down load a authentic seadoo manual from the seadoo manual library. In the library is a variety of manuals for almost all years and models. You can view as many as you like on line as a PDF file, or download it and print it for your personal and private use. There are operator manuals and repair manuals for you to do your own repairs on your seadoo. The repair manuals have everything from troubleshooting, repair procedures to winterizing. It contains wire diagrams torque specs and pictures for disassemble and assemble instructions. In the spec sheets it tells everything needed to maintain oil changes, spark plug gaps, carburetor rebuilds and impeller wear ring tolerances. Click on the "Seadoo Manuals" link at the top of the page for more details. If you need any help or get in a jam, we are always here to answer your questions too. Fitting?......

It's hard to determine if the fitting will need to be replaced without seeing it. But if you saw smoke, chances are, it burned enough to weaken the integrity of it. You'll need to get a clean look at this and determine for yourself if it still looks like it's capable of providing a good seal with the carrier bearing.:cheers:
