this ski runs great and has no issues until its used for a while. It had an idling problem, but I set the throttle up a little and it went away for a while...then after it warmed up it had issues again...would drop below 1000 rpm and then slowly die unless you tapped the throttle. Then I was at full throttle, running good and it died...completely and fast. No warning lights, so I restarted and it was fine for 30 seconds...then died same way. Started and ran for 15 seconds, all at full throttle, then died......I'm afraid to restart now. I immediately thought it was an overheat problem, I may have heard an alarm but at full throttle its hard to tell. Anyone know if I have an alarm? Could it be a clog in the water intake? I am told if its an oil injection problem it would have failed catastophically. Any ideas are appreciated.

PS this ski had an engine compartment full of water last year when it almost sank...Seadoo dealer re-worked the engine and its been fine till now.

You say it runs for about an hour. I know this is a dumb question, but how much gas do you go through in a hour. You may be running out. Have you tried switching over to reserve ?

Secondly, if your main water inlet hose had a clog or was off, your engine would just idle, and your gauge cluster would give off a beep (had it happen last week). If it was broken off the impeller housing you'd have a boat full of water.

What you describe sounds fuel related to me...Keep in mind, I'm a watercraft mechanical rookie. I can fix most anything, but I'm just guessing at my analysis.

I have plenty of fuel and did flip to reserve just for fun. Does not appear to be fuel related because it doesn't sputter, it just goes dead. I was going to check the intake tonight for clogs. Do you know if there is a good way to backflush the intake?

even if it runs strong in between cutouts? I would expect it to perform poorly if compression is gone in one cylinder or both....it also started right up last night in the garage
