95 xp backfiring

cleaned out the gas tank replaced the old gray fuel lines with new black lines and took off and rebuilt the carbs and now the front carb is backfiring every few seconds while idling. i have the spark arrester off but was wondering if it should be on to keep it from backfiring i am very new to all of this so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Anytime diagnosing, install everything like your taken to the water....With arrestor off, chances are its on the lean side.
