The rotory crank shaft brass gear is chewed up. And the central gear is over against one of the main bearing seals. Can the central gear be moved back to center?

No....

No, the rotary shaft is counter sunk in the port side casing. If it has shifted, then that means it probably broke. You'll probably want to pull the motor and seperate the casing halves..............

I have the cases apart and I know I need a new brass gear for the rotary shaft. Can the central gear on the crankshaft be moved away from the main bearing seal and recentered? If It can how do you do that. If it can't then do I need to get a new crank?

Alot of long time seadoo mechanics have recentered the gear useing a small punch. You need to make sure your seals on each side are in good condition. The next idea would to buy a rebuilt crank shaft as the manual states [Do not try and rebuild the crank shaft yourself as it requires special tools and experience.]

So if I carefully work my way around the gear tapping on the sides of gear to move it and get it in the center of the two bearings it will stay secure and not spin on the crank?

Yes From what I under stand as I would not think the 2 very knowlegable mechanics that gave me this info would have told me that they have doen it without telling me that it would not last.
