I've owned this 1995 SPX for about 3 years now. Been great. This year we put it in the lake and it starts fine but the was a load pop. A friend starts to ride it toward our dock and it's taking on water. Pulled to shore, drained, we take it home.

The pop was the boot fitting on the drive shaft. Greased the zerks fitting, reattached the boot to the shaft and everything worked fine. Adding that to my Fall & Spring checklists.

It's running fine and as we bring the PWC to the lift, the engine dies. Checking compression, one cylinder is at 25 while the other is at 125.
Took head off and foubd ) ring was burnt away on one side. Bought a new head kit and installed. Ran great for a couple minutes, then died again. Won't start. Bought liquid gasket. Same thing, runs great for 5 minutes then died.

Could the head be warped and it won't seal the head? It's getting so I can take the head off with my eyes closed.

Any ideas?????

is the o-ring groove intact? they can corrode away on the outside edge. you probably need to replace that cylinder. 650 or 720?

The O ring channel is looking good. I did have one head bolt that was cracked off. I drilled out the bolt last night.

The head has some dents inside the dome. This will hurt performance, but it should run OK.

I was going to try liquid gasket. Any thoughts?
