95 sportster

I have a chance to get a clean 95 sportster for $4000 w/ trailer. The guy doesn't know much about it but says it is a single . Could someone tell me the HP of this boat? And any other info would be great. Is it worth the money? It looks verrrrrrryyy clean!

I did some reading and I think it is a 720 and that should make it a 85hp

Guess it depends on where you live. Sold a 96" Sportster twice, for $2500, within the past month, sold my first one, in prestine condition in Aug, for $3000...SO, guess, its where you live and time of year.
That boat has the 657x motor (80hp),..there a blast of a boat, but to me, not at that price, chief.

Just paid a little over $3000 for my 96' Speedster, so you might be paying to much.

does seem alittle high, got a 54 speedster for 3k with the same description


ummm yea you read it right a 54 ! only thing I hate is getting into the water and using the crank to start the motor

I don't know if there is a huge price diff between the two due to 1 vs 2 motors, but I think 3ish is the price you should be after

4000 is way to high for a single engine boat, i got my twin engine 2001 challenger for 4600 on New Years Eve:hurray:

hmmm, I paid $5500 for mine.

Guess I should have shopped around a bit?:ack:

I still think it was worth every penny. Especially now that I have the new motor and impeller in it.

I went and looked at it today. It was in verygood shape except for the engine compartment. Real oily and he never tipped up the boat to get the water out.Sooooooo the ski tote and engine compartment had quite a bit of ICE in it.
I passed. Thanks for the input.

Late better than never....

I see you already passed on this boat.........but I'd have said the same. The money was too high and whenever you see that kind of oil in the hull, you'd have to find out where it was coming from. He could have just over filled the tank and it came out through the vent.........

But, he's trying to get way to much for that year.........:cheers:
