95 Sportster rear hatch gas strut

Where can I find the gas strut for the rear hatch? I looked in different sites for sea seadoo parts but haven't found any yet. No luck in eBay either.

Local auto parts store. Same struts on car hatches. They vary from 20lbs to 80lbs. About 20 bucks.

I have a 1995 Speedster. Can I get a size or part number for the gas shock that you got at the autoparts store?

Just take the strut in with you, and they should be able to match it.

I took the strut off last season so I could take it to teh store and now I can't find it.....

Open it up and measure the over-all distance. Pay attention to how the ends hook up. Head to the local auto parts store and buy one the correct length. Once you have one, you can try it for fit and strength. If you need to change something, you will know what to do from there.

I took the strut off last season so I could take it to teh store and now I can't find it.....

I plan to replace mine this week, I will post the part number when I do.

There is info on how to measure your struts for replacement and order from a company online. Worked out great for me and others...
