Hi All, I picked up a 95 SPI. All original. I took it out to the lake and it ran great for about 15 minutes. Plenty of power, took right off. Then, it started to act up. When I gave it full throttle, it took right off then bogged down to almost idle speed. This went on for a while, as I tried to get back to the dock. Then it would only run at about 1/8 throttle all the way back to the dock. I don't think the fuel system has been messed with. It has all the gray lines. Also, it starts right up and idles fine. Any ideas?
Thanks

Gray fuel lines, carb rebuild with only genuine Mikuni parts and new needles and seats, new fuel selector and fuel strainer o-ring. Replace the little 3/32” oil injection lines from the oil pump to the intake manifold, replace the inline oil filter and verify correct API-TC oil is being used.

Thanks for the reply. I just replaced the fuel lines and the selector and the strainer. I will order the Mikuni kit and rebuild the carb. Update will follow.
Much appreciation!

I replaced all the fuel lines and the filter with o-ring. I also put a new fuel selector in it. I got the carb rebuilt with the Mikuni kit from OSD. The pop off pressure was 22lbs. That is the low end of the scale according to the shop manual. I took it out and it ran great for around 20 minutes. I shut it down for a minute and I couldn't get it to start again. Of course, I killed the brand new battery I bought. I got a tow back to the dock and got the ski home. I charged the battery and tried to start it again in my garage. It started, but with a lot of smoke. Gonna check the inside of carb again. Maybe I missed some dirt in there. Gonna try to raise the pop off pressure too.
