Ran the new motor yesterday and the tack worked fine. Went to the lake today to "break" it in and both tacks and fuel gauges were inop. Look at the schematic and there appears to be a fuse somewhere. Probably in the mpem gray box. Is this fuse replaceable. Seems strange all gauges went belly up. Comments please. All other electricals work.

I agree, probably a common link to the failure. Yes,, it is a removable fuse. Simply pull it out and replace it with one of equal size. Do not get a larger fuse.

Where would this fuse be located?

Top right hand corner of your MPEM module, see the purple wires they power all your gauges and the fuses are right there next to where the wires come out of the board potting. The tan wires with dark tracer on the top left of the board are the grounds for those circuits.

If you find a blown fuse, find the source of the short before replacing fuses to avoid damaging your module you're looking for continuity on the base contacts of the fuse holder to a ground that doesn't belong in that circuit.

Just to close the loop on this. Found the fuse, check OK... ..Hmmmm. Started the engine and all worked fine. Went back to the lake and all OK... Don't know what happened or why... Stuff happens on old boats I guess.

Probably a poor connection at the fuse. By pulling and reinstalling it, good connections. At least we can hope anyways,,,,
