95 sp580 wont hardly go

95 sp basket case- just rebuilt the motor- seems to run good-
wont get up on plane - doesn't really take of very quickly
just revs - probly like 5-10mph

prop/jet drive is a little chewed up but not terrible

any ideas? how bad does the prop have to be before it wont plane off?

bent/chip blade would do the trick...also bad wear ring. Check clearance between leading edge of blade and wear ring...no more than 1mm. This alone would be a big reason of no prupolsion

I know its a bit late but,Thanks for the info, further inspection founfd very worn wear ring along with prop worth replacing.

You were right the wear ring really seems to have been the issue.. replace those often?
