95 seadoo XP and 95 Seadoo GTX cutting out

Well I got a great deal on 2 ski's. A 95 XP and a 95 GTX. Both for $1000 and a trailer. Rewired the trailer and put in 2 starter solenoids and everything works!

Here are my last issues: I took them to the lake and the 95 GTX does not like to run in regular gas mode. in other words I have to switch it to reserve. It also has no readings on the gas gauge. It shows empty with the light on. From what I have read this may be a fuse issue in the tank? I read where people bypass it etc. How about the part? Can I just buy the part and replace it?

The XP ran great to start. Now it is having issues at full speed. It revs and bogs revs and bogs like it is starving for gas. In other words it is like it gets gas and then it is shutting off and then opens again and shuts off. Hope that makes sense.

They both have the infamous grey lines. However, I am in California, and I inspected them and they seemed ok. I am going to change them anyways, but looks like I will have to pull the carbs to get to some of the connections. (is this true?) That will suck, but carbs could use a cleaning anyway.

I know the 90's XP's had issues with water in the engine housing. Mine is no different. Could this be a water issue, or gas? I would hate to change all the lines (gunna do it anyways) and have the issue still. Is there a fix for the water in the casing issue?

Last question!!! MODS!! Where can I got to get good mods for the 95's. do they even make them anymore?

When I owned my last ski in the late 80's mods were pipes, water bypass, bored out nozzle, impellar, quick turn system, etc. What is there for these?

Thanks for any help

Yes the Tempo lines will HAVE to be replaced and carbs cleaned. The fuel selector is probably clogged, better to just buy new selectors as they are not too expensive.

I will double that.

The lines are a MUST do. One of he tests is, does it run better on reserve,,, You've already answered the question.

ALL LINES, new valve, major cleaning if carbs and the plastic filter inside the carbs.

If you don't don't do this you will loose your engines due to a lean running condition.

Ok Where is a good place to get the parts? It does not seem that very many people carry 95 xp gtx parts anymore. Or am I just searching wrong.

Does anyone have a part number for the fuel selector? How about a part number for the fuel fuse too?

http://osdparts.com/index.php?main_page=product_free_shipping_info&cPath=595_602_1&products_id=38 Since you are taking the carbs apart now to clean them out, you may as well rebuild them now while they are apart.

We have bought these kits many times and have been very happy. As for the fuel baffle just pm Minnetonka4me for a replacemnt fuel baffle. If you buy the fuse you would need to remove the baffle from the tank and then cut a square of plastic out and solder in a new fuse. Then you would need to plastic weld the square you cut out back in.

Ive got a factory pipe, carbs, manifold, rev limiter, intake grate, possibly a prop, nozzles....all sorts of fun stuff. Down side is the 720 isnt the best engine to mod. mbraley he knows 720 mods better than anyone it seems.

I have repaired fuel baffles, any and all restoration parts like carb kits, fuel line, oil injection line, oil filters.....whatever. I have it in stock and ready to ship.

OK .... So I have everything pulled apart on both skiis. I had the green stick crap in several areas. (grey lines). I went to the auto store and looked for gas line. they had some thick line for $1 a foot. It was internally braded high pressure line that just did not look like it would work. (looked way to hard to deal with as well as a 1/2 OD)

I decided to go to the Seadoo dealer and see what they had. They had the correct hose at $5 a foot!!!!!! How about a big no frikn thank you!!

I was able to find some clear yellow marine grade fuel line that was very easy to work with for $1.85 foot. One ski down one to go today.

I purchased what I thought was a rebuild kit for each carb from the dealer for $40 a piece. The carbs looked clean except for the screens, but I figured, I have them apart lets just do it.

Well they were not only the wrong frikn carb kit but they are only for one carb not the duals. SIGH!! Sooo I cleaned the heck outta the carbs and screens and put it back together. checked the plugs and I was not running lean, so I feel confident I am good to go.

I will be taking the kits back to the dealer. I wanted to buy the carb kits as mentioned in this thread but was limited on time for delivery. I will have to plan ahead for that.
