I have a 95 speedster that the right engine will start right up when its cold and run like a champ. BUT when it gets warm it likes to die or bogs down and will hardly go past 4500 rpms. This motor had a rebuilt top end and carbs rebuilt and set back to factory settings. The motor ran the same way before before rebuild also. The fuel lines have all been changed and the fuel selectors were replaced. Any help would be great!

Disconnect the rectifier and see if you get your RPMs up. When they start to fail it is common to loose top end speed. The battery will not charge while disconnected but this will help isolate the issue no matter what the results are.

Ill give that a try. Do I unplug all the wires going to it or a certain one? And the weird thing is when the engine is cold it fires right up runs great until its warm or I shut it off then it starts hard. It will start and die about 10 times before it starts and stays running.

I did unplug the red wire to rectifier and there was no change. Since there is two of them I swapped them with the good running motor and still no change on either motor.

I did do some adjustments on the low speed needle and it seemed to help but still not right. The thing is I had the needle set to 1 1/4 for factory.
