95 seadoo speedster, can i run boat without the cover above the engine?

im talking about the plastic/fiberglass piece that is above the engine and under the door,, usually holds the life vests and the rear light bar.
the reason is i want to be able to open the rear hood and see the engine while im in the water and doing tests.

Yes you can operate it that way. It will be louder.
