I have a 95 gtx I rebuilt the top end last week I have good spark good compression I pulled the carb off to squirt fuel directly into the engine and it still won’t start it acts like it wants to but nothing and I’m at a loss at this point.

Are you sure the rotary valve timing and clearance are correct?

I was told that wouldn’t make it not run but I haven’t checked ..

Well, not letting the intake charge in and closing off the intake at the wrong times will definitely make it not run, so you were not told correct information.

Cust caught this... there is no reason to remove the carb to get fuel into the engine. You should not try to start it with the carb off.
