my GTX started acting up today it starts up and drive it but when i turn it off and try to start it later the cylinoid just clicks and evetually it turns over and it just started doing this sometimes it starts right up other times it takes alot of hitting the start button do I have a bad starter or a bad connection

solenoid...

Yes, this is normally the sound of a solenoid going bad. Some just go out and click, some click a few times then, will start the motor. But eventually, it will stop add together.

Go ahead and replace before the riding season is in full swing. You wouldn't want to be stranded on the water........

Let us know if you can't find one or if the "high way robbers" want to much. We may find one for you cheaper.

Ok I have a 1998 GTX the starter spins but does not engage. The battery is good all the fuses are good solenoid is good all the connections good. I pulled the starter bench tested it and took it and had it tested it is good now what????????

Hey guys I have a gtx 2000 rfi. I had this problem, it just clicks but won't turn over, I pulled the jet pump off as I thought it was seized and it was, It started without the pump on, but then I put the rebuilt pump on and it clicked again, would that starter be able to kick it over with our that extra weight of the jet pump

Bendix and or low voltage, (which can be a connection issue as well).

VERY common for a rebuilt pump to lock up an engine. Remove the cone and see if it cranks then.

Hi, and welcome to the SeaDoo forum.

It sounds to me that your pump is seized, the starter won't turn over if the pump has seized, rebuild your pump. Since this thread is 6 years old it would really be best to start a new thread on your problem. Please start a new thread in the 2-stroke PWC section. Thanks

Lou

Just started one mate, and ok I will do when I get home I will remove the cone, if this works what is the problem
