Howdy,
I have a 95 SeaDoo GTS which has been a pretty good PWC until recently. Everytime we get back from taking it out, the hull is filled with water. The drain plug is in and works, and there are no cracks in the hull or hood. Any idea what might be causing this?? The only thing I can think of is it might be the rubber seal around the hood or seat.

Thanks!!

There are a few ways to find out what is leaking on your Seadoo. If it is on the trailer, hook it up to your flush kit and start the engine. Turn the garden hose on and check for leaks. If that doesn't produce the culprit, put about four gallons of water in the hull, look at the drive shaft and pump area for external leaks. If you have no luck yet, leave the ski on the trailer, back it down your ramp, with the seat off, look and see if the leak shows itself. I am by no means an expert, but with a ski that old, I would guess the carbon ring at the drive shaft or an exhaust system leak when running. Good Luck.

Flush with hose and check for leaks? Yes. Fill with water and look for leaks? No. Carbon ring? Not on the '95 model.

I'd suspect either the casting plugs on the headpipe (the one in towards the center most likely), then the shaft seal and/or rubber hose. If those are not obvious. It's best to put it into the water and secured to trailer, seat off and check for leaks. That is if it wasn't obvious when you put it on the hose. Also, check to make sure you have the bilge tubes in place in the reduction nozzle. I can't recall off the top of my head if your model has them or not, think it does, but if they have fallen out it'll actually pump water into the hull rather than siphoning it out.
