Hey, I have been running my 95 HX Wide open for about 2 min, then it all of the sudden dies. I try to immediatly turn it over, and it acts like the engine is seized, I wait for about a min, and then it will turn over and start. I recently replaced the seal carrier bearing. I am wondering if the engine is getting too hot, or if there is something wrong with my new bearing. I check my plugs and they do not appear to be running hot. My bearing however does get really hot to the touch, but I have read that this is normal. I have greased it with green marine grease, but it seems to be really thick grease. I am wondering if I have the wrong grease, or if my engine is overheating...I have never heard an alarm go off to tell me its too hot, nor do I have any gauges. Any ideas? Thanx!

This happens in 2 minutes? Where is this grease your are talking about. Is it in the nose cone in the jet pump,( which takes75w90 GL5 Synthetic Polyester Oil) or the end of the pump shaft by the engine?

HX driveshaft is a little different than the other models (almost backwards lookin).

The synthetic grease I use is Seadoo's for the carrier bearing - but mine is white.

The grease I have is in the carrier bearing...I wonder if the grease I put in it is too heavy of a weight...not really any way of removing it I guess, other than pump the right stuff in, but then I may ruin the seals...Is there a temp gauge that I can add to my engine somehow?

The grease shouldn't be that big of a deal as long as it has grease in it. It should be fine.
I don't think you can get a temp guage from aftermarket.

Ok, So I repacked the bearing with seadoo grease, and found it has to be the engine seizing up. The cold water hose seems to be cool and the hot water is hot. The top of the engine is really hot. I have blown out the hoses and the engine is still overheating...is this a common issue, or am I missing something?

if you splash on the engine right after running it and it steams and dissapears then it may be to hot and is locking up and you may have a wear ring or pump problem.

wear ring clearance appears ok...impeller does have some small chips on it...no horrible vibrations....got up to 50mph according to gps...but the impeller pushes the water into the cooling tube right?
