Hello,
I am working on a project seadoo that had been sitting for a few yrs... The photos attached show that the transom hull where the jet pump bolts up has been compressed and large crack on the right side.
I was originally going to tackle the repair job myself .. but had a friends boat body shop guy look at it for advice.
He stated that the whole section needed to replaced and not just fixing repairing the right side due to the compression cracks. I suspect that previous owner(s) may have over-torqued or caused damage when removing jet pump if it was removed for service. It did not look like it was ever dropped on its stern and the hull plate was in good condition - so no true idea of what happened.
I think that type of hull repair is a bit above my current capability - so may have to have it done for me.
As this was a project that I picked up for about $200.00 - I am not into it for too much yet - the motor runs and jet pump is in very good condition - I put in a new starter, have rebuilt the carbs and am in the process of replacing all the fuel lines and some misc cables.
Couple of questions -
Based on photos does it look like the whole section needs to be replaced?
What is the current value of a 95 GTX? Online I have come up with between 900-1000 in good working order and shape... Is that about right. Just trying to figure out where my break point is before it becomes a money pit...
Thanks for your assistance/comments....
