have a 95 gtx it was blowing fueses (5 amp) i determined i had a dead short in the mpme. I bought a used one on ebay off of a (running machine?) now its not blowing fuses any more but it wont even try to start. Am i missing something or was my running machine not so much running?

The 95 GTX uses a module, not a MPEM,(Multi Purpose Electronic Module). Is the battery in great shape? If in doubt have it LOAD tested at like Auto Zone for free. It might have a bad cell of 2. Is the ground wire going to the engine by the engine clean and tight? If all is good, than jump across the starter solenoid with a 14 guage insulated wire. If the starter turns over than it must be another problem. So as not to confuse you, look at the things I told you to check and get back to us.

starter will engaige by jumping the solenoid it will not with the start stop button. havent checked the battery because it will turn the machine over.

May need to test electrical operation of both the start/stop switch and the lanyard post.

start-stop button? or starter button? if you have a start-stop button and a DESS post, you have a 96. the 95 mpem (cdi box-whatever) will not run it.

you have the red wires on the solenoid post, that the red cable from battery hooks to. Happened to me, they need to be all on same side...

i have checked the battery and both the start stop and key switches they all apear to test fine. The red wire to the electronic module is on the same post as the wire going to the battery. there is still no power going to the solenoid from the switch. I took the old module and cut the plug off that went from the module to the solenoid and i can ground the black wire and jump a wire from positive on the battery and it works, turns over like it is supose to. is there a way to check the module? or am i missing something else? Please help!!!!!!!!!

I know he can repair the MPEM's but you can contact him for a repair on the module. His screen name is "All Things Custom" His first name is Mike. Send him a pm, or look up his screen name and call his phone number listed in his avatar.
