I have a 1995 SeaDoo GTX that runs great starts fine but will not die if I push the kill switch. I tried pulling the lanyard off still no die. It will not start unless the lanyard is on and it starts fine. I have been pulling the choke to kill. Any ideas. Thanks

Check the continuity of the Safety Switch Lanyard. It is normally "open". The color codes of the 2 wires are Black and Black/Yellow. These feed back into the electrical module box. The Start /Stop switch is normally "open". The color codes of the 2 wires are Black, that goes direct to ground, (to stop the engine), and the Yellow/Red that goes to the electrical module box. Check the continuity of this switch too.

I hope this helps.

I checked the contunuity of the start switch and it was OK, I could not get to the end of the lanyard wires as they are in the elec box. after I spent a couple of hours trying to figure out how to get in this box without removing the fuel cell and oil cell. I went a head and cleaned up all connections on all of the wires and every thing seemed to work. The only problem now is that when I push the start button it only clicks if I hold it down or keep trying it will eventually turn over and the kill switch works. Is there a way to get the elect box out and access it without having to remove the fuel and oil cell or even worse the motor. Is running and stopping now just thought I would prepare if it stops starting. Thanks for all of your help.

If it only clicks it might be a bad starter solenoid. Open the box where the red cable from the battery goes to, Use a 14 guage insulated wire and jump across the solenoid to see if the starter turns over. The clicking is the solenoid not switching the power. The start switch still might in the problem as it directs power to the starter solenoid.

Keep me posted on your problem.

How the heck do you get into this box without removeing everything? I see on clip on top but even if this is what holds it on it doesnt look to have enough room to open.

It should be the way to open it. I can't remember on that 95 GTX what else is in the way. Look at it closely, I don't ever remember having to do major removal just to get to it.

removing electrical box

I have a 95 gtx to and all you have to do is disconnect the battery and pull the battery out. there's a waterhose on the top of the exhaust you undo and the box slides out with a little work. not very difficult.
