95 GTX keeps dying in water

Went out couple weeks ago, cruised inno wake zone from boat ramp to open water for 15 min, opened it up for about 5 min, then it died. Cranked a few times, it was struggling then fired up, then dies within a few seconds. This happened several times subsequently.

Called BoatUS and got towed. Once on trailer, it started right up, flushed engine while running it for about a minute, no issues at all. Got home, it fired right up too. Hooked up to a battery analyzer, says it's charging, see pic.
Battery is a duracel AGM, almost 3yrs old. Getting a new battery anyway.

Could it be something else?

Bought 11/2022, took it out once, then sat until 09/2024, things in the family kept me really busy. Went out 5, 6 times in the last few months, no issues.

Replaced fuel lines, filter, fuel selector, spark plugs in 08/24. Haven't done carb yet.

Even if your compression was good before, check it again now. If it’s good and you have good spark then try running a line direst from the fuel tank to the carb,?if that fixed your problem then you most likely have an air leak somewhere in the fuel system. If it doesn’t fix the problem then rebuild the carb using back to OEM kit from OSD. You could also check your rotary valve clearance

Just wondering why would an air leak make it die in water but not on the trailer? And is there a way to pressure test the fuel system?

Most of the issues mentioned ( low compression, poor fuel delivery, weak spark)will be amplified when in the water due to the engine being under a load. Let’s see if I can get this right, when I pressure tested the fuel system on my 95XP I took the hoses off at the fuel baffle, plug the on and res hoses where I took them off the baffle, take the supply hose off at the carb and put my mityvac on there. Then turned the fuel selector to a variety of positions to see if it would hold Vac. I should note that I damaged my mityvac doing this on Vac by sucking some fuel into it. I purchased another and started using it on pressure setting instead of Vac. I also eventually just replace the clear lines that the XP came with, with Continental black 1/4” fuel hose so I didn’t need to worry about the hose at the fittings connections and just tested the selector valve and filter/seperator on there own.

Got new yuasa battery and went test today. Low rpm works fine, circled around boat ramp 10 min, once i opened her up, dies after a few min. Rested for 15, 20 min, no going at low rpm this time, went fast no problem, did several 360's, then died again but always started right back up and it could take me back to boat ramp in low rpm.

Could it be over heating, does the mpem shut down the machine if overheated?

it doesn’t shut itself down from overheating, Is water coming out of the pisser ok? Have you checked the fuel vents to see if they are clogged and allowing pressure at proper psi? 90 percent of the time it seems to be carbs
