OK guys. I'm trying to remove my jet pump on my 95 gtx so I can replace the wear ring. I've downloaded the service manual and it tells me to remove the clamp on the drive shaft boot. Why is it necessary?? I have everything else removed and this pump is stuck really good. I've been fighting this dang thing since Monday with no luck. Can anyone chime in and tell me what maybe going wrong?

If you do remove the driveshaft you will have to remove the clamp circled in red first.

But you do not have to remove the driveshaft to remove the pump as it will come out of the front of the impeller.

The pump is stuck from the silicone used to seal it to the hull.

You are just going to have to keep working at it to try to get it to start to pop loose.
