Wife and I were trying to burn through the fuel from storage last night, everything ran great for about 1.5 hrs. Then she was complaining about her ski (95 gtx) wasn't running quite the same. Then it wouldnt start. We took them out of the water, only to find hers with a significant amount of water! YES, the drain plug was in. I drained it, removed the plugs and shot all the water out of the cylinders and it fired back up. I then took it on a 5 minute full throttle ride to make sure everything was running fine, and it seemed to.
Am I through the woods of concern yet? Should I do anything else 24hrs later besides cross my fingers? Or take it for a longer ride?

Run it in the water or on a hose without the seats and check for exhaust leaks or other leaks.

I fogged it when i got home from work. While i was drying out the hull, I found this piece.

Is that what caused the water to fill inside? And why doesn't that hose go any further like my other ski? (96 spx)

Your GTX has a 657X engine so it is not the same as your 96 SPX with a 720. That is just a flush fitting but if it was not on the engine it would dump a large amount of water into the hull and could cause overheating of the engine.

My experience.. 2005 GTI -not performing, took off seat, hull had gallons of water inside -- wassup??
So - put boat on trailer, pulled out of water, drained hull; dipped rear end back into water, search inside for static leak [give some time] - no leak detected. Next, rear end still dipped in water - start engine - search inside for leaks - and there it is, very evident, water spouting thru a corroded hole in a welch plug [ plug is part of casting process. see pic.] My local powersports shop welded on a new plug, was not expensive. - Welch plug.jpg
