Hello everyone. I am new to the forum and new to PWC's. I bought a 96 GTX and a 95 GTS a couple weeks ago. Took them out and everything was fine. Following week, went out and both crafts started stalling at WOT. Searched and found a post on grey fuel lines. Great post, crappy lines. Replaced all lines and selector valves on both machines. Cleaned filter and went to the lake. The GTX is a beast, jumps right up and doesn't miss a beat. The GTS was fine for about 20 minutes but started stalling at WOT. Comes out of the hole great, full revs and lots of power but then it falls on its face. I'm sure the carb filters are trashed but wouldn't that keep it from coming out of the hole so strong? Advice?????

Thanx in advance,
Mike

possible, but when it falls on face, then the motor still causing vacuum which will pull the gas in,even with you not on threottle, so then, the carb/s will then build.fill up, get'n pass the internal filter, enough to get a good, out of hole, shot, then falls back down again. Get rebuild kit, it be worth it...

If the filters are trashed replace them. The engine demands more fuel at top end than at bottom take off. Go to the "parts" link at the top of the page for the internal filters.

Keep us posted on your progress.

OK, pulled the carb yesterday and cleaned it up. It was pretty gummed up. Went to the lake and took off. Ran great for about 5 minutes then started to miss slightly at WOT. After a few more minutes it really started doggin out at WOT. Comin out of the hole its great but dies out above 3/4 throttle. At WOT pulled the choke out about 1/4 and she was screamin like nobodies business. Could I have missed something in the carb setup or could I still have a fuel restriction somewhere?

think you need to rebuild the carb, diaphram can be damaged from age....heres the settings....
..1995 GTS 587 MAIN-147.5 PILOT-65 2.0n/s 21 - 37psi LOW- 1-1/4 HIGH- 0....when rebuild'n, chec kthe pop-off pressure, its critical, dont chage the spring that's in there now...2.0n/s is the needle and seat size, which needs to pop in those parameters...
