I have gone through the fuel system on my 95 GTS and cleaned. On some of the posts I read where the voltage back to the battery at about 5,000 RPM should be in the 14 VDC range. When I cranked up the thing to test it , I am getting only 12 volts at the battery. Could this be the fuse ? , Rectifier, or what ?

It sounds like it could be the rectifier. Check the fuse first before you do any tests. Be sure the wires are good too from the stator assy.

Thanks for the advice. Before I cleaned up the carb and changed out the grey lines, I was running ( very poorly) the thing at the lake. I disconnected the rectifier to see if it would run better. It actually ran worse. Therefore, I thought it was fuel related. I cleaned carb and replaced grey lines. The thing starts up with just a bump of the starter. I have yet to run on the lake. Is checking the stator a straight forward process ?

Hey Jimmy...
Was battery charged/good when running/testing when rectifier unplugged? Sounds like rectifier hold'n you back....

Battery checks out at 12.5 volts. When I opened the box to check the fuses, I realized I had disconnetced the red wire from the rectfier before I brought the thing home to clean carbs. I reconnected red wire, cranked up and voltage fell to between 6 to 9 volts. Could this still be rectifier or battery bad. :banghead:

Turned out to be bad battery. Battery under load was poor when tested. New battery installed and charge rate went to 14VDC. Tested on lake yesterday and now runs better than ever. Thanks for everyones advice.:hurray:
