I had the oil pump set up just right. The ski ran for aprrox. 5 minutes and then shut off. The plugs were new when installed they were black when i just checked them.

When trying to restart i hear a noise that sounds like rod or knocking noise. Since this ski is new to me I plan on checking the compression next. I have soaked it with Marvel Mystery oil to try and undo what I might have already damaged, Not sure this ski has a knock sensor.

Any thoughts where to look first.?

Can you give us some history on the ski?Have you ever had it running before? Is the oil in it?Did you do a compression test before?Check the simple stuff first I remember when I did my carb for the first time I couldn't get rid of this lean bog.....come to find out that I was trying to tune the carbs at way too low of an idle. That had me stumped for days.It could be something stupid like the exhaust bracket hitting the hull when it's at idle?

Just recently got it. Compression seemed good before carbs job

ran good in driveway after carb job. Noise is definetly coming from crank area, I Can manually turn over and noise is evident.

Started disassembling the entire unit today to see how hard its going to be to change the motor.

Is it posible that maybe that the crank if filled with oil? When I charged the battery and spun it over it turns over and then slows down after 10 seconds. I do notice when putting my thumb over the plug hole my finger gets hot but the cylinder appears to be cool.
