I Have an 01 RX with less than 80 hrs on it that is having some carb issues. We purchased two matching skis at the end of last season and the other is running great.

For 2001 RX's there are two style accelerator pumps listed, a square and a round. We have round which is apparently extremely rare. I managed to find a replacement acc. pump diaphragm in the round style.

The part I need is a tiny orange flapper that attaches to the accelerator pump cast housing. If need be I can order the whole housing but I have yet to find either part!

Ive called a local seadoo dealer who thinks Im crazy because all the diagrams show a square accelerator pump which doesnt have this part. Ive also contacted SBT and a local store (Casey Cycle City).

Please help!

Im also wondering would it be possible to convert to the square style if the other parts cant be found?

Thanks and have a great Holiday weekend

Those round accelerator pump are very rare. I tried for several months to find one.

Get rid of that accelerator pump and rejet your carbs. Contact Bill O'Neal at Water Craft Magic and purchase one of His rejet kits. They work great.
Bill hangs out on another web site, "PWC Today." He has forgotten more about jetskis that most people will ever know.

Thanks^

I already have the replacement diaphragm. While I had it apart I noticed that the tiny little orange flapper that pops in the casting for the accelerator pump is torn. Im looking for that little flapper or a replacement housing with one. Its about .25" in diameter.

Seeing that i probably wont ever find one I Will probably try and contact Bill tomorrow to convert to the square style. Why rejet the carbs? Is this necessary when changing to the square style or just a bit of added performance?

Thanks and all advice is welcome!

EDIT: Wait are you saying that with the rejet kit you can eliminate the accelerator pump all together?
