Hey Ya'all. I have a 94 xp which ran great and then just quit. looked her over and found a blown 5 amp fuse. If I even get close with a new fuse it blows! Can jump selenoid and it spins great. my first guess is to replace selenoid but I'm no genious! Can you help anyone???
Thanks in advance

Where is it located and what does it look like? How would I test? Just read about jump starting which I did and also found a loose neg on the batt term, could either or both cause the problem?

I have a 96 SPX that was doing the same thing. Turned out being the VTS electronics in the back of the ski were bad (the sealed box on the back of VTS motor enclosure) The potting material on the back of the box started cracking and let water seep in, causing shorts in electrical limit switches for the trim motor. If this is your problem, you either need to replace the box or get rid of the electric trim (which is what I did by just rigging up a manual trim) Hope that helps.

VTS module....

The VTS module on the 94 XP is guarded with a 15 amp fuse, not a 5 amp. The 5 amp fuse is the power supply guard for the electronic module. The other 15 amp fuse at the module is to guard the charging system.

I didn't look at the electrical layout for the 96 model, but the VTS usually has the 7.5 or 15 amp fuse. On all of the models that I've seen with a 5 amp fuse, it's to guard the mpem or electronic module.....
