94 SPX - where does this hose go? Also oil injection question

I have a '94 spx, I can not figure out where this hose goes. It is the hose that goes through the hull on the starbord side. I found it laying in the bottom of the ski. it is still attached to the check valve and the side of the boat. I looked at the manual and it is not very clear.

Also is it normal to have about a 1/2 air gap in the oil injection line before it goes to the intake manifold. It seems to be pumping oil and it seems to fill up completely when I pull the oil injection line with the engine running while hooked up to a hose.

Thanks for your time.

It shouldn't go to far from where it was in the hull loose. It might be a vent hose from the fuel tank...

There are two possible vent hoses I can think of:
1. The fuel tank vent. The has a check valve on the hull side of the tube and is usually identified by a T-fitting somewhere on the hose run on the way back to the tank.

2. Battery vent. I took this one out when I went to sealed batteries (maintenance free). The batteries that needed to have their water checked (non-maintenance free?) had a fitting for an air vent. This presumably was to keep any explosive gases from the battery from staying inside the hull.
