I'm Working on my friends 94 Speedster. I have a repair manual that is somewhat helpful, but i am unable to determine if i have found the problem or not. Here goes: the starboard motor runs and revs fine. the port motor has no spark, everything else checks out. When you go to start the port motor the moment you hit the start button, the 5 Amp MPEM supply fuse blows. i totally disconnected the magneto/stator from the (ignition module?) deal betwen the coils at the bottom of the electrical box. Still blows the fuse. then i switched the (ignition Module?) deals around and the problem remains? When the beeper deal is connected, even when its absolutley cold it countinuosly beeps, until you ground the over heat sensor wire on the starboard motor, or until you take off the wire from the port motor, it buzzes when its on and when its grounded. I think it's a problem in the MPEM but at the same time i'm pretty much lost at this point, any help would be much appreciated.

Heres what i found out today. The red/black wire going to the ignition coil in the motor has 150 ohms of resistance between it and the black wire coming out of the motor. this is on the starboard side which runs fine, so even though its higher than it should be im not too worried. the other motor, which im having problems with, has infinite resistance betwen those wires. with would be a reason for no spark. But the thing that i cant figure out is why the MPEM fuse for that motor would blow immediatley after you hit the start button? WHat do you think guys am i looking at a ignition coil issue or a mpem issue. I dont want to pull a motor, or order an expensive part until im as sure as i can be about whats wrong so any advice would be much appreciated, thanks.
