i just bought a 94 sp for $150 the guy just put a new computer or mpem thing in it but he said he couldnt get it to spark and when i got it home i couldnt either this is my first pwc so im lost any help

Unplug the black/red wire between the mpem and coil and see if it starts. If it does, you have an issue with a switch or the rev limiter in the mpem. If it doesn't, the stator or coil are the places to look. Also, if it does start with that unplugged, be prepared to kill with the choke since the stop and lanyard buttons are bypassed

ok will try that tomorrow but also there was about a cup of oil in the hull under and around the engine it wasnt 2 stroke oil but looked like motor oil how do i check or fill the crank oil

I posted a similar thread right at the time of this one, but since this has legs let me jump in here. Not to highjack, but it is on the same lines.

If I unplug my I do not get voltage out of either side (magneto or mpem) while turning over. What would that indicate. It should not turn over if it is a switch, correct?

its a 2-stroke, bud..crank gets lubed from the oil in resivoir mixing in with gas, thru the oil injection system, located on the RV plate. If aint there, then you'll need to mix your gas...40/50-1

then would there be any reason for motor oil to be in the bottom of the hull sorry it was a stupid question but ive rode 2 strokes all my life(fourwheelers , dirtbikes) and ive always had oil for the gears so i was confused, new to the seadoo

that oil you were putting in the dirtbikes/quads, were for the transmission.
The oil, was probably there, from either cracked oil lines(is there oil still in the resivoir) or when filling up the rez bottle, he dropped it in there, or resivoir bottle leak'n from the bottom grommett, thats run'n down the line/s.....

so i shouldnt worry about it then because the worst it could be is a leak in a hose or someone spilled it in there right?
