hi!,

I’ve read a lot of articles on this site but no luck yet. I’m experiencing some problems with my xp. first of al when i try to use the vts the relay just clicks en the motor does nothing (motor isn’t stuck). my second problem is that both gauges do not work. so no fuel, no oil, no rpm. any help tips and ideas? thank you!

You're gonna need a multi-meter to check the resistance on the fuel sending unit. You can check it without removing the fuel baffle.

Pretty common for the trim to give you trouble. You'll have to pull the cover to troubleshoot. You can pull the motor and test that it is functioning properly. Also look at the back from the pump end to see if the rubber boot on the shaft is bad. If it is you'll need to replace that.

The issues you have require a good but of troubleshooting. If you don't have the repair manual I'd suggest downloading one. Good Luck

Sorry I meant to say you can check the fuel sending unit WITHOUT removing the baffle. If you ever have to remove it, be careful some of them a birttle and that fuel hose is a bear to remove sometimes. Glad you got it working.

sending unit was also broken, there was no magnet inside so fixed it and tested it on another ski

If you have multi meter it's an easy test. If the meter reads changes in resistance when you slide the float around it's working. I tested one last year and it tested good but the damn thing didn't work. I pulled the baffle and put the float in a cup of fuel and it sank like a stone. LOL I test the dang floats now. :) Always sumpthin. Good Luck.
