Hi Boaters: I've been using a lot of really good information from this forum. Its a great place.

I've had a 1994 Speedster for 6 years. I've kept it up and made repairs proactively and as necessary. It's been a bit of a love/hate relationship. However, here is my new problem:

657X Rotax s with 50 hrs each. Both have good compression on both cyls. I have replaced all grey lines.

I just rebuilt the carbs on the starboard engine (they were bogging at about 3000rpm under accelration). I used Mikuni kits, I retained the original springs as pre-test pop-off testing was 28 psi to 29 psi (and was slightly higher after rebuild on both - within 1 to 2 psi in repeated post rebuild tests). Iinternal filters were 1/3 filled with sediment. I think all went well in the rebuild.

Low speed screw set to 1.5 turns out, High speed screw closed on both carbs. Installed them. Installed new plugs (BPR8Es) gaped to 0.20 (ish). Both batteries good and charged (one is brand new). All fuses checked and good, grounds all checked and good. I have good spark (checked grounded to head). Cranks over well, but will not start, won't even pop. Plugs do get wet. I've varied throttle and choke in several attempts (removing plugs and clearing cylenders between attempts). I've tried to start the motor with and without the spark arrestor.

It appears I have fuel, I have spark, fuel is fresh. It is interesting to note that when I removed the carbs the High speed screw on the Mag carb was set at 2 full turns out. Both low speed screws were 1.25 out. was out.

Any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you have compression... spark, and fuel... then they should run. When an engine is suborn... a shot of starter fluid may help clear it, if it's flooded.

Did both engines... all the sudden stop running... or is it just one of the engines?

If it's just one engine... I'd say the rotary valve stopped spinning.
