Hello I hd just purchased a 94 Seadoo Explorer from a buddy, it ran great last summer but when i went to start it up this summer it would turn over very slow, and its not the battery because I just purchased a brand new one. I took it home and bought a new starter and solenoid, and put them back on, and for a second it turned over great!, then the next time i hit the button it is still doing to same thing again. Turns over slow, then very fast with the spark plugs out of it. I am completely lost on what to do, the impeller is not rubbing, and the cylinders are not dried up... Please help!

The start is probably bad. Did you buy a cheap aftermarket starter?? If you did... they ALL suck. I would recommend rebuilding the factory starter.

As far as the battery... did you buy a Wal-Mart or interstate? If you did... that can be your problem. (They suck too)

Alright I will have the starter checked and if it's bad I'll have the factory starter rebuilt. Also do you know where I can find a wiring diagram for the solenoid? I put a new one in and I must have not hooked it up because when I hit the start button nothing happens, it only turns over when I touch a wrench to the top two prongs. It's a four pronged solenoid...

Sorry... I don't have a wiring diagram for that boat. But... it's basic. I would put a meter on the small wires, and see if you get 12v when you push the start button.

when you turn it over without the plugs in, does an excessive amount of oil come out the plug holes? if so, you are hydrolocking the pistons with the plugs in. it is a common problem with rotax engines to have a slow leak on the shaft that runs the rotary valve. as with my 787 rotax, if it sits a long time i have to pull the plugs and pump out all the oil from the cylinder or it will turn over slow and lock up.

today i took off the air box and flame arrester on the port side and with the throttle open i looked through the carbs to see about a half quart of oil in the crank case most of which i would have to pump out of plug hole to start engine. but instead i took some small line (like surgical line) that was clean and stuck it through the carb. with my mouth i sucked out the oil. watching of course thru the clear line as not to get a mouth full.

So i hooked the battery directly to the starter and it fired right up. So i did that a couple of times and it would fire right up but would then shut off right away like something was preventing it. I then opened up the electrical bx and was making sure all the solenoid corrections were right, so i tapped a wrench to the two top wires and it would fire but would not start. Now i knew something was wrong because before it would start right away. Now when i hit the starter button nothing happens at all its like nothing is even hooked to it, im very lost because i just replaces the solenoid and before it would at least click, and now it does nothing.
